Our Clients
I moved to Boston for a "temporary" 3 year project for my existing employer. Because housing was not part of my salary package, I wanted to find a great part of the city that I could afford but also that I could make an investment - something that could hold its value, possibly appreciate and definitely be a competitive rental for cashflow when I left in 3 years. I didn't want to waste money paying an expensive Boston landlord when I knew that I would be in town for a limited but sort of long time. I did a lot of google searches before I came to Boston for a "pre-move" visit - my goal was to find something to purchase before I actually moved so I wouldn't have to pay movers twice. I wanted to start work and not spend all of my off-time dealing with a property search, multiple city moves, etc. I found my Ballast Agent online, talked on the phone a couple times, and set out my goals and explained my time constraints. I was able to see 32 properties that my Ballast Agent worked with me to choose and then schedule for me in my 6-day visit. I was totally satisfied with how efficient, organized and informative my Ballast Agent was at each step of the way - and at how little I had to do. I basically got all of the information I needed to be able to make a decision - confidently. I made a great buy (if you compare it to recent sold prices in my building & on my block) - and my Ballast Agent still updates me about my options as I get closer to the end of my 3 year contract in the City. I also have to add that I was very happy with the different home resources that I was provided with. I was given a range to meet my budget/job quality needs - and I picked based on that. It meant that I didn't have to waste more time to get a couple minor things done to my Boston condo.
We had twins and another one on the way and wanted to stay in the city but move out of the condo that we purchased when we were students. We met with our Ballast Agent and gave our exact criteria and our pricing budget. We planned to use our equity from the sale of our current condo to purchase our new condo - so we had to orchestrate a sale, a purchase, and a somewhat hectic move with 3 kids! Our Ballast Agent ran extensive market data for us so that we understood the values very well, ......
Monika W., Fenway Condo Sale/South End Brownstone Purchase
“As a senior associate at a law firm in the Financial District, I didn’t have a lot of free time to dedicate to my Boston real estate search and the work and research that went into the purchase of my new Boston condo and the simultaneous sale of my current condo. I knew I was ready to move, but I didn’t have the time to really start the whole process. My Ballast Real Estate Agent was able to distill the information that I needed to know and streamlined the process to keep my Boston real estate search on track. I sold my Fenway condo and moved into my new condo in the South End. Both transactions were seamless and allowed me to concentrate on my work instead of the details of my transaction – my Ballast Boston Real Estate Agent handled all of that."
Gaven, Waterfront Developer, East Boston, 9 Condo Units

“My business partner & I know a lot about building and project management but felt that we needed to hire experts to help us get the best sales price in an increasingly competitive market in the timeframe that worked with our development budget. We interviewed a number of Boston real estate agents and chose our Ballast agent over several other agents in our market area -- it was clear that our Ballast agent was the only Boston real estate agent that really understood our business and timing constraints as developers and also had a real sense of what current Boston real estate buyers were looking for. Our Ballast agent consulted with us on unit finishes, layouts and amenities, designed a targeted advertising plan and advised us on strategic pricing. In the end, we were able to capture well-qualified buyers which allowed us to sell out our development and start our next one. Our Ballast real estate agent was a crucial asset in terms of getting all of the closings done – done right and on time – and getting the new buyers acquainted and oriented in their new homes so that we were not constantly fielding calls. We were able to concentrate on our business – developing properties. Every detail and every day counts when you are developing multiple properties; and our Ballast real estate agent was a focused & precise negotiator on our behalf and never let a day or a detail slip on any of our transactions."
Ruthann & Bob K., South End Boston Condo Penthouse, Concierge Building

"When we thought about moving into the city from Chestnut Hill where we had lived for 14 years, we did not know where to start or how to get any help. A family friend suggested our Ballast Boston real estate agent who took the time to get us acquainted with an entire neighborhood before we even started the home search to make sure that the neighborhood that we liked was well suited to the city lifestyle that we envisioned living. We chose a specific concierge building where condos on the penthouse level with outdoor balconies are hard to come by. Our Ballast agent monitored the market for months waiting for the perfect unit to come on the market. The second that it did, we were the first people to see the Boston condo and eventually won out in a multiple-bid scenario. We now have our ideal condo with a wonderful balcony overlooking the city. Had our Boston real estate agent not been so diligent and attentive, we would still be waiting for a penthouse unit with a balcony to come on the market!"
SOWA Residents, “Raw” Boston Loft Space Purchase & Construction

"When we started our Boston real estate search, we discovered that the living space & style we wanted was more of a West-coast feel that did not really exist in traditional Boston brownstones. We wanted at least 3,000 square feet on one floor and were not interested in traditional interiors or vertical brownstone living. We knew that we were going to have to get creative – we just did not know how. Our team of Ballast Boston real estate agents was able to find a property that was not even on the market and negotiate our purchase of the Boston condo at a very favorable price. This negotiation by our Ballast Agent ultimately allowed us to build out the interior of the unit to our exact specifications. Our Ballast agents were able to negotiate what was a very sophisticated transaction and connected us with the right financing company and construction team to allow us to complete the build out of 4,800 square feet of raw space just as we had envisioned it from the start. There is no other Boston condo like it."
